Design Considerations

At first, putting together a web page might seem like fun, and to most, it really is fun. But it isn’t all just fun and games. There are a few things you need to remember and consider before jumping into creating your own web site.

The design process can take a while, and there are about 6 different things that go along with creating a web page.

  • Information Gathering

  • Planning

  • Design

  • Development

  • Testing and delivery

  • Maintenance

Everything should be done with as much effort as the last. Information gathering is important because when creating your web page, you want your users to feel like they have gotten what they came for.   I find a lot of the time I’ll go to a web page, and I’ll exit out of it needing more information.

Planning the lay out of your site, the colors and theme can save you some time when it is time to put the web page together. There is less trial and air.

Gathering information gives you some insight regarding on the design of the web site and what audience you are trying to reach.

There are also some key factors when it comes to the finished product. There’s nothing worse than when you go to a web page and it’s boring, it’s plain.

  • Contrast

  • Repetition

  • Alignment

  • Proximity

Are just a few things to keep in mind when you’re about to finish your project. These are important for the flow of the webpage. You’re eyes naturally flow towards color, and alignment.
